Reachin' Out.....Beyond the Prairie
Acts 1:8 says,
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
Crossroads' outreach vision is to, "reach the lost and to helping the hurting", and we, as a church, strive to follow what Jesus directed for us to do in Acts 1:8. As the church, we are called to go, "to the Ends of the Earth", to minister and serve as the body of Christ.
Below are recounted missions trips, that members of Crossroads have traveled to, to serve and to love on communities and individuals around the world.
We also support Missionaries through the Evangelical Covenant Church who have felt the calling, from God, to live within a community of people somewhere else in the World. Their goal is to share the love of Jesus with the individuals within that particular community, and to hopefully bring them into an eternal relationship with their Savior.
Short Term Mexico Missions - Children On the Dump
Approximately once a year several members of our Crossroads family go to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for
a week. Although they all pay their own way they don't lay on the beautiful beaches enjoying the sun. Instead, they work to help build a school forchildren who live on the dump and improve housing. The families of these children subsistence comes from items they have procured from the garbage dump.
The schools purpose is to teach them to speak more fluent English. So that they can get the better jobs
in the tourist business and thus help break the cycle of poverty that comes from living on the dump.
Stay tuned for a possible future trip. Prayerfully consider how you might jump on board.
Over the last couple of years a small group from Crossroads has partnered with Mark Barrett from Homestead Church in Snohomish for short-term self-funded mission trips to Nepal. The goal of the mission
is to aid the Rescue Training & Development Center which is a sewing school that provides a skill to rescue women from poverty. Go to www.nepalrtdc.org to learn more. Stay tuned forpossible future trips. Prayerfully consider how you might jump on board.
